To help improve the health and well-being of the community, one patient at a time, through natural, holistic, and non-invasive approaches based on knowledge accumulated over 4,000 years.
Traditional Chinese Medicine embodies the knowledge, wisdom, and achievements of Chinese physicians accumulated over the millennia. It is used to treat innumerable medical conditions and body imbalances through various methods including acupuncture, herbology, and moxibustion.
The key to acupuncture is one's life force, or Qi [chee]. This energy vitalizes the body, mind, and spirit. Health is determined by the flow of qi through the major pathways, or meridians, and acupoints. When the flow of qi is smooth and undisturbed, the body is in balance and is, therefore, healthy. When the flow of qi is disrupted, the body is unbalanced and, therefore, may emit pangs of pain or manifest the sickness.
Natural plants and minerals are utilized to create custom-tailored medicines that can act as either a supplement to other treatments or as a standalone treatment. When absorbed, the medicine nourishes and detoxifies the body, affecting blood and qi disorders.
Moxa, a slow-burning herb, is compressed, lit, and held over the skin (indirect moxibustion) or placed on the skin (less common direct moxibustion) to promote circulation. The local and focused application of heat to acupoints helps induce a smoother flow of blood and qi.
Handed down, recorded, and refined over the generations, Traditional Chinese Medicine helps prevent illness, promote well-being, and treat various imbalances. It has many applications, including:
Neurological (Nervous System) and Muscular conditions: migraines, toothaches, jaw pain, shingling, facial paralysis, stroke residuals, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, tendonitis, muscle pains and cramps (from injuries, accidents, or age), tennis elbow, sciatica.
Respiratory conditions: asthma, allergies, sinusitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, ear infections, recurrent upper respiratory infections.
Digestive conditions: gastritis, gastrodynia, indigestion, colitis, diarrhea, constipation, hepatitis, pancreatitis.
Urinary conditions: cystitis, kidney stones, impotence, menstrual disorders, infertility, menopausal syndrome.
Psychological conditions: insomnia, anxiety, depression, stress.
Others: thyrosis, diabetes, smoking, alcoholism, weight control, eczema.
Furthermore, Traditional Chinese Medicine is useful as a preventative measure against future sickness. Maintaining the body's balance is just as important as treating the body's imbalances.
